A Brief History of Reflexology

Foot massage was highly valued as part of health and healing in the ancient world. The Chinese, Egyptians, Japanese, Indian and Native American cultures all developed differing methods of foot treatments, and believed that foot therapy helped maintain good health and prevented disease.

Modern Reflexology began as Zone Therapy, developed by Dr. William Fitzgerald in the USA in the early 1900s. His protégé, Eunice Ingham (often known as the mother of Reflexology) took this research further by creating the foot map which reflected the internal body over the feet. Specific conditions could then be addressed by activating the corresponding areas (reflexes) on the feet.

Reflexology has grown in popularity throughout the world just as it once existed in ancient times, and others now follow Eunice Ingham's example through continued research and promotion of Reflexology for health, body, mind and spirit.

I apply specific massage and pressure techniques over your feet, hands or ears. Reflexology methods create a deeply soothing sensation.

This feeling resonates through your entire body so that you feel deeply rested and restored.

My treatments also include Reiki. The energetic effects of Reiki compliments Reflexology in complete harmony.

What to expect at your very first treatment session

Reflexology is fun. The treatment session is friendly, relaxed and comfortable. We discuss your health goals and you will fill out a brief health history form.

In Reflexology you remain fully clothed making it easy and convenient. You only need remove your footwear.

During a Reflexology treatment you recline on a massage treatment table which is dressed with fresh linen. Then, simply relax and enjoy a devoted session of foot therapy!

When your treatment has concluded oils and creams are removed from your feet using soothing warm towels.

Foot Reflexology – One Hour - $65.00

One hour of therapeutic foot massage treatment using specific reflexology techniques. Feels divine, very relaxing and beneficial for health.

Foot and Hand Reflexology – One Hour - $65.00

Enjoy a therapeutic massage of your hands and arms for 5-20 minutes followed by therapeutic foot reflexology for the remainder of the treatment. Very relaxing, a double dose of health benefits and pampering.

Foot and Hand Reflexology – 90 Minutes - $90.00

Enjoy a therapeutic massage of your hands and arms for 30 minutes followed by a therapeutic foot reflexology treatment for 60 minutes.

Foot Reflexology 60 minutes and Head Massage 15 minutes - $75.00

One hour of therapeutic foot massage treatment using specific reflexology techniques, followed by a gentle 15 minutes head massage. Complete relaxation for the body and the mind. Nurturing and deeply relaxing.
